Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and songwriter. She was raised by her mom and her father, in USA. She was subjected to racial remarks and felt unloved. It was in her ninth grade that she gained confidence after receiving a rousing ovation during an audition. This not only increased her confidence but her dreams were changed. In 1992, she received her degree from New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail, were her biggest breakthroughs. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot, she played the Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as critical praise. In the year following, she was cast in the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. The actress is also a renowned singer and has published an extended version of her play. She has also been a vocal advocate for LGBT issues.
