Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid is of Chinese origin and grew up in Vietnam. The father of her Winston Barrett Munn is from an American family with deep roots in America's South. Olivia's parents separated at the age of two. Her family consisted of her mother who was in the United States Air Force, and her stepfather. The majority of her childhood was spent in Tokyo, Japan, even when the family moved often. In that period, she was involved in many local productions of theater and eventually became a Japanese Fashion model. As the family retreated home to United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her ambition of becoming an actor. After playing a couple of roles, her career took another promising step after she secured the part of Mily Acuna on the Hawaii-lensed television show Beyond the Break (2006) and the role of Rob Schneider's receptionist Big Stan (2007). She hosts G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" along with "Formula D". It is her favorite pastime to surf, and she is still practicing after the television series Beyond the Break (2006). Black belts are hers in taekwondo. She was only two when her mother married again however this time to a US Air Force member. Although the family moved numerous times, the vast majority of her existence was in Tokyo Japan, the location that her stepfather was employed by the military. She studied journalism at the University of Oklahoma and also studied Japanese drama, dramatic arts, and acting.
